About Antoine Lambert
I’m a Montréal-based cord-cutting reviewer. Since 2020 I’ve tested every major IPTV service marketed to Canadians, and this site is where I publish what I find. My goal is simple: help Canadians cut their cable bill without losing the channels that matter to them, especially hockey, French-language programming, and regional sports.
Background
I spent 10 years as an IT technician working for small and medium businesses across Montréal — network setup, home theatre installations, and troubleshooting. In 2018 I cut my own Vidéotron Illico contract and started experimenting with IPTV. By 2020, I had tested more than 40 services and was fielding weekly questions from friends and clients about which one to trust. That’s when I started writing publicly.
I’m not affiliated with any IPTV service. I don’t take payment for reviews. When I recommend IPTV Prime Canada as my current top pick, it’s because it’s the service that has passed my testing protocol for the last four quarterly reviews in a row. If a competitor beats it, I’ll say so.
Where I test
I run my testing setup out of my apartment on the Plateau Mont-Royal in Montréal. My testing infrastructure:
- Primary connection: Bell Fibe 1.5 Gbps fibre
- Secondary connection: Vidéotron Helix 500 Mbps (separate account for isolation testing)
- Regional partner testers: One reader in Toronto (Rogers Ignite 500), one in Edmonton (Telus PureFibre), one in Vancouver (Shaw Fibe+). They run the same protocol on their connections monthly.
- Test devices: Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Nvidia Shield TV Pro, Xiaomi Mi Box S, Samsung QN90A Neo QLED, LG C2 OLED, iPhone 15, iPad Pro, MacBook Air.
My testing protocol
Full protocol: How We Test IPTV Services. Short version:
- Sign up under a real name with a real payment method (not comped review accounts)
- Test on all six device types listed above
- Verify channel count manually — no trust in claimed numbers
- Measure 4K bitrate with monitoring tools (real 4K = 15+ Mbps)
- Track EPG accuracy over 48 hours
- Test support response times in French and English
- Repeat all measurements every 60 days
What I don’t do
- I don’t accept payment for positive reviews
- I don’t publish reviews of services I haven’t personally tested for at least 14 days
- I don’t remove negative reviews when a provider asks
- I don’t recommend services that offer no refund policy
- I don’t test one week and forget — every recommendation is re-verified every 60 days
